Full Review If you are looking for something far from main stream than this is for you. The 1997 Coturri Merlot is a not for everyone. All Coturri wines are unfiltered organic wines that are full of flavor. They drop sediment and need to be decanted. This Merlot is dark and rich and full of tannins. It is powerful enough to go with rich and full flavored foods. It will easily overwhelm light or delicate flavors. The flavors of fruit and spice are very pronounced with an almost sweet aftertaste. As the wine breathes you'll find that each sip is a shade different from the last becoming softer as it breaths. If you like light airy wines that take a back seat to the meal than this is not your wine. IF on the other hand you like to try something complex and very full bodied by all means pick up a bottle 2.
